Dr. Saul Isserow’s role as the lead cardiologist at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games and experience as the Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehab program at Vancouver General Hospital provided the impetus to join a growing presence in the United States and Europe in this specialized area of cardiology.
The Centre aims to be a North American leader in this field and provide for:
- Clinical assessment and evaluation of athletes to ensure safe participation in athletics and exercise
- Commence research activities
- Educate athletes, coaches, physicians and members of the athletic and medical communities
- Advocate with authorities that have a shared interest in this area of health and wellness
